for Collinsville Public Schools, Independent District I-6, should

disapprove, vote to table or decide not to vote on any item on this
agenda.

-- Approved, several wording changes to match changing laws: student
retention (foster care/military); certified; Fair Labor Act (employee
reference / felony records search); discrimination (new).

Superintendent's Report -- Lance West reported
on these topics:
* Wrestling room revamped - drop ceiling removed, painted, LED lighting,
new mats on wall (which can be moved to future facility), new lockers,
rubber flooring and new bathroom fixtures.
* Vents for science lab at Wilson
* MS/HS labs - VCT tile & repainted, chemical resistant formica,
vents, and upgraded biology room
* New Tulsa Tech pre-engineering romm at HS in former library room
up front
* Gutting Washington (storage) building into rolloff dumpsters
* New bus loop at HS on west side of 9th grade annex (asphalt) - staff
only parking in west lot during day - open to public for events
* 7 new Chromebooks ordered ... will bring total to 17
* Sent newest buses (2013's) for air conditioning retrofit ($6800/bus)
* OSSBA Conference
* New teachers report Aug. 11
*
Professional development Aug 14-15 (menu selection ... individuals
choose topics)
* August 16 - open day
* August 17 - classes begin
* Bus Rider rules will be handed out for students/parents
* LED Lighting Conversion being studied -- including outdoor field
lights
-- not for newest buildings (like CUE ... with lights just 2 years
old)
-- can replace old 4 bulb units with just two new LED bulbs ... no
ballast required
* expect lower electric utility cost by 50-75%
* likely lease-purchase (one example was $480K option -> $75k per
year)
* hope to use existing wood poles at fields (else $5K per pole upgrade)
* Football field scoreboard upgraded to LED / wireless this summer

Announcements -- City
progress on "Safe Routes to Schools" -- sidewalks and
crosswalks at elementaries (east side of 129th) and middle school
(14th from Center to Broadway)

-- Approved -- 3 new fundraisers (2 FFA + 1 volleyball)

Approved -- Agreement with city
for school to be responsible for maintenance of new parking lot at
HS after City and Cherokee Nation upgrade (asphalt and 10 new light
poles)
