on the continuing cuts in state funding and possible impacts to Collinsville
schools was first presented to the school staff the previous week,
then the board before school patrons in the regular twice monthly

7) Proposed Executive
Session to Discuss Re-employment of the Director of Student Activities,
Director Of Teacher/ Student Services, Director of Special Education
and Finance, and Director of Nutrition. Pursuant to Section 307 (B)
(1) of the Open Meeting Law, O§, so that the Board May Return
to Open Session And Vote to Rehire or Not Rehire the Director of Student
Activities, Director Of Teacher/ Student Services ,Director of Special
Education and Finance, and Director of Nutrition for the 2016-2017

* Julie Crutchfield: interesting meeting with other school superintents
on potential cost cutting
* Kelly Hamlin: ACT for all Jrs March 29 - students positive
* Jim Riley: Winter sports done -- wrestlers 1 of 2 championships,
boys basketball (15-9) were in every game and hosted regional for
first time, girls fell short at Area. Choir state competitions, Spring
sports have started. Great students, coaches and moms & dads.
16) Superintendents Report.
* Brewer Construction will be back for April Board meet - wrap up
CUE/HS construction report
17) Announcements.
* Naturalization Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday
March 9th at Upper Elementary (CUE)
* 3 big losses for Collinsville schools with deaths of Craig Creech,
Louis Keith and Ray Henshall in past week.
18) New Business: (if any, of an emergency nature or that was not
known at the time the agenda was posted).
* -- Approved, a letter of exclusive committment
with Central States Orthopedic - medical care on sidelines. Bonus
that they purchase ads and provide physicals and are available for
consults anytime.
* -- Approved, CHS sophomre Jake Brillhart
(see photo at top of page also) proposed a Boy Scout based "Venture
Club" with activities for high school students to stress character,
citizenship, leadership, recognition and ideals. The club would be
self sustaining. Mrs. Tracy Pabitzky (CHS Biology teacher) has volunteered
as sponsor for the group. And worthy of note -- young Mr. Brillhart's
professional quality presentation before the school board was mature
well beyond his age.
