Updates on Building Projects- Brewer Construction --
The "final" report by Chad Brewer with just "minor"
dress up and punchlist items remaining to both the high school and
CUE projects. Still dressing up top soil at the high school. Plan
to sweep the back parking lots with school out Friday. Expect to finish
final punchlist items in next few days. Still some missing kitchen
shelfs and keys. Expect to deliver the warranty books (each about
8 inches tall) in next week or so.
6) Presentation of College Remediation Rates of Collinsville High
School Students- Jon Coleman -- The 2014 school
year had 105 students take ACT Test (with 86 indicating a plan to
attend college). Their ACT scores indicated 24% would likely need
remedial classes before starting college English, 41% would need remedial
classes before starting college algebra, and 11% would need remediation
before college reading. The ACT score have been trending upward the
past few years but "hope to do better". Coleman reported
the remediation rates are similar to other area school but still hope
to continue improvement. The local remediation rates are about 5%
higher than last year. Coleman also reported that with the state program
to provide a free ACT to all juniors this year, he would expect the
overall ACT numbers to decline and be hard to compare with previous
years. He also anticipates a greater emphasis on ACT if the state
switches to ACT instead of EOI testing.
7) Discussion and Vote to Approve Spring Athletic Coaches. --
Approved (I believe the only change is Stacey Dutton / Kassie Dolan

gates ... and allowed fans to cross over and see portions of sports
they might not otherwise have seen
-- Upgraded facilities also hosted Miss Collinsville Pageant, Diamond
Dinner, & Boars Head
-- OSSBA managing finances session soon (for board members)
-- Board members have their required training "points" to
the end of their terms ... except Memory Ostrander who just needs
one more class by 2020.
