.CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- JHI UPDATE -- 8-22-16

The Collinsville Cardinals 7th,8th, and 9th grade football teams have been super busy the past couple of days. Last Friday night the Cardinals traveled to Bartlesville to scrimmage the 6A opponent and on Monday night the JHI scrimmaged Tulsa Edison at Sallee Field.
Both scrimmages were very physical. Every player that has been in our camp received playing time for our coaches to evaluate. Long time and former Coach of the Cardinals, Coach John Hall, volunteered to film the Tulsa Edison scrimmage so that the coaching staff could evaluate each player. The intensity of the Cardinals was outstanding as we prepare for our first game on August 30th.
After the scrimmage at Sallee Field the QB Club prepared a delicious meal for every player and coach of both teams. We would like to give a big thank you to the parents who help prepare the hotdogs.
One injury to report: Freshman Jason Benner broke his finger and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Our next action will be against the Oologah Mustangs next Tuesday at Sallee Field. Game time is 5pm.

JHI Update CARDINAL FOOTBALL 8-31-16

The Collinsville Cardinals JHI football teams hosted the Oologah Mustangs Tuesday night at Sallee Field for a non-conference contest. This was the first game of the 2016 season for both programs and there was great anticipation from the Cardinal Nation for a rivalry win.

The 7th grade Cardinals displayed total control the entire night. With an outstanding kicking game, dominate running game, precise passing attack and a smash mouth defense the Cardinals were too much for the Mustangs. Cardinals win 22-8. No injuries to report.

The 8th grade Cardinals gave the fans plenty of entertainment. With a crushing running attack, overpowering defense and a solid kicking game the Cardinals broke the Mustangs will to play. Cardinals win 28-0. No injuries were reported.

In the 9th grade contest the “Boys of Fall” proved what Cardinal Football is all about. The slugfest was short and sweet for the Cardinals. The Cardinals played every down with tenacity and were just too overpowering for the Mustangs. Cardinals win 35-14. No injuries were reported.

The Cardinals will have get a break over this long Labor Day weekend. There will be NO PRACTICE on Labor Day. The Cardinals will travel to Coweta next Thursday September 8th for a Metro Lakes Conference contest. Game time is 5pm.
