CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- Jr. High Update -vs- Coweta Oct. 30th (Thursday)

The Collinsville Cardinals Jr. High football teams hosted the Coweta Tigers at Salle Field Thursday night. The night was full of hard hitting, smash mouth football. There was a lot at stake in the Metro Lakes Conference match up. The Cardinal 7th and 8th grade teams could win the Metro Lakes Conference title and be undefeated with a victory. Our 9th grade team was playing for pride, as they have continued to become a really good football team. The Metro Lakes Conference teams are; Collinsville, Coweta, Claremore, Grove, Pryor, Tahlequah, and Skiatook.
Our 7th grade close out the season with a great win, 22-6, are Metro Lakes Conference Champions and have a perfect record of 8-0.
Our 8th grade close out the season with a knock out win of, 36-0, are Metro Lakes Conference Champions and have a perfect record of 8-0.
Our 9th grade game was one of the most exciting Jr. High games I have ever been a part of. Our players had to overcome so much adversity as the game came to an end. We had our chances but just could not close the door on the Tigers. Coweta wins a tuff one 18-12. The 9th grade close the season with a record of 5-3.
After each game our Quarterback Club fed hamburgers and drinks to the players. They were very tasty and we would like to thank the QB club and parents for this great treat.
With the close of our season, I want to say thank you to so many, the coaches and their families for their sacrifices while coaching these young athletes, the parents for having to arrange transportation each morning at 7am for practice, and having trust in us to coach your son, the cheerleaders and Miss Amy Garrett for their support each week, our student assistants for having water and first aid for our players, the Cardinal Nation Fans for their following, Robert Humble our announcer, the chain crews, our fantastic teachers who give our boys the tools for success, and our Administration.

Coach’m up
