(FFA) Annual ONLA Convention and Trade Show

The Collinsville FFA chapter was very excited to be invited to volunteer at the Annual Oklahoma Nursery and Landscape Association (ONLA) Trade Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Several companies were there to set up booths through out the show and we had the privilege to give them a hand. Everyone we met was so kind and giving. Multiple vendors were gracious enough to donate beautiful plants, tools, and other supplies to our chapter and for that we are grateful. We cannot express in words how much appreciation we have for Becky Sellers, Becky was kind enough to arrange for us to volunteer and bought us pizza for dinner, after our hard work and we sure were hungry! We would also like to thank everyone from our chapter that came out to help us, including: Morgan West Leigh Brown, Katsy Smalygo, Talon Coulter, Dakota Fugate, Walker Roberts, Julie Branen, Dalton McCoy, Jaquelyn Bastida, and Cheyenne Mosier. Without all the help, we couldn’t have accomplished what we did.

Since the Trade Show and the generosity of the vendors we have been able to improve the appearance of our High School Campus. We previously had no landscaping in front of the Agricultural Education Building, we now have a flower bed on each side of our entrance and have planted a variety of plants (our favorites were the HUGE yellow mums!) in those beds. We have also planted several plants around other areas including a flower bed at the front of the high school which was dedicated by the graduating class of 1969 and has not had flowers in it for some time now.
