Collinsville Girls In Final 8 Teams At State Tournament
Lost 32-37 To Carl Albert (Thursday At Saplupa)
The CHS Basketball Girls bus trip to the State Tournament (1st round games at Sapulpa) started with a trip through Historic Downtown Collinsville with side trips by each of the school's campuses.
This Sawyer Salisbury 3-pointer pulled Collinsville within one at 8-9 early in the 2nd quarter. Collinsville was down 2-7 at one point in the first quarter.
It might appear that Mallory Vaughn had time to "cheese it up" for the camera ... but I can assure you she was quite busy and focused (and likely bruised) from all the shoving under the basket on both ends of the court. -- Ted

Collinsville's only lead was at 19-17 in the 3rd quarter after being down 10-17 at the half. Tied at 24-all to start 4th quarter. Tied 26-all with 5 minutes to go. Trailing by 2 with 2 minutes left at 30-32 but only scored two more points in the final minutes ... and Carl Albert was making their free throws with Collinsville trailing. -- Ted 4:40pm
If you'd like to send the CHS Basketball Ladies on their way in style to the state tournament ... be on Main Street about noon Thursday (from 14th Street towards the east ... after they make a detour by the middle school) -- Ted 6pm Wednesday -- the game starts at 2pm in Sapulpa ... be there too!! -- Dogpile Facebook says they will also pass by Wilson and ECC/Herald -- Ted 9:30pm

The ever entertaining student section fans chose an Hawaiian theme for Thursday's game. Maybe these fans and the cheerleaders will make some appearances for baseball, soccer, tennis, or track now that basketball has completed?
The "guest" Collinsville team held the lead only briefly (19-17 late in the 3rd quarter) after scoring 9 unanswered points to open the 2nd half.
A more experienced (& more hungry for post season success) group of basketball girls will return next year... with the only two 2014 seniors being off the court managers (Rachel Griffin & Micalea Norris).
