Blue Star Mother Expand Scope |
With the Oklahoma
National Guard coming home, the Tri-County Blue Star Mothers thought things
would slow down; however, that is not the case. A soldier, who is part
of the replacements of the Oklahoma National Guard, contacted the Tri-County
Blue Star Mothers President. There are 185 soldiers requesting to be added
to the mailing list of our well known "Freedom Boxes!" Kimberly
Graham, Tri County BSM Chapter 17 President said, "How can you say
no to our boys?" The highest number of boxes sent last year was 139
in December. With the new addition of the 185, the count should be around
250 boxes per month! We need volunteers now more than ever!" Graham
continued with "The local communities have been incredible in supporting
our troops. As long as there are soldiers out there, we will continue
our mission of supporting our troops until they all come home!" You are welcome to use any of the above. The President of Tri-County Blue Star Mothers will be at the Chapter location tonight for the regular Tuesday evening pack. Tonight they are packing over 250 "Thank You!" bags for our Veterans at the Claremore Veterans Hospital. Photo Opportunities are open! The meeting location
is at the Dirty Dawg Carwash and Storage at 116th and Garnett in Owasso
(10950 E. 116th St. North, Owasso,OK 74055). Packing tonight starts
at 6:30 pm and concludes around 8:30pm. We hope you can come out and
visit! |
