Here are a few notes
from last nights Band Booster Meeting:
*Jazz Band took
3rd place in class at their December 16th contest.
*5 students participated
in All District this year. They did great!
*All State is January
19-21. Emily Fuller will participate in the concert on Saturday at the
PAC in Tulsa.
*Mr. Newhart was
asked that a few band members perform in a memorial for a fallen soldier
from Owasso. That will take place on January 28.
*January 28 is also
the Winter Guards first contest in Adair.
*FUNDRAISER: Cookie
dough goes on sale February 2!! Money should be gathered at time of
sale. The fundraiser will last two weeks, ending on the 16-17.
*Winter Guards second
contest will be on February 11 in Ft. Gibson.
FYI: Band Booster
passed a vote to pay for the contest fees for the Winter Guard. They
also passed a vote to give Mr. Newhart $1000 for instrument repairs.
*FUNDRAISER: The
Band Boosters will host a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, February 11.
We are asking all families to please either donate either items or their
time to this endeavor.
***Their will be
a silent auction for specialty baskets. And a live auction on deserts.
We will need everyone who can to please to get donations for the baskets.
***Each class will help with items for a basket.
***Erica Caputo and her Mom will put all the baskets together. Big THANK
YOU to them!
***We will need baked goods to auction off at the dinner. If you love
to bake or know someone who does please ask them to volunteer something
for the dinner.
***Tickets will be sold at the door. $5 each and children 5 and under
free.
***The dinner will start at 6pm. We are requesting that as many band
students that can to come and donate their time to clean tables, refill
drinks and mingle with the diners. Please wear your Echoes shirt and
jeans, Middle School students please wear your polo's and jeans.
***We also need parents to volunteer to help prepare and serve food.
It will be buffet style serving.
*The next Band Booster
meeting will be on Tuesday February 7. This is a week earlier than usual
so we can iron out anything that comes up with the Dinner.
The Dallas Trip
will be on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. Mr. Newhart will
let me know when the next installment is due and I will let you know.
