The Collinsville Crimson Cadet Band did not march Friday at Washington. BTW had homecoming at halftime and Collinsville apparently had some equipment arrive too late for the planned pre-game performance.
The Booker T. Washington Band entertained the crowd with their typical lively performance.
Coach Dale Harp celebrates a Cardinal defensive stop of Booker T. Washington on 4th and 1 at the 46 early in the 2nd half.
This Derek Iannapollo pass was just beyond Conner Crutchfield's grasp in the 3rd quarter.
TJ Johnson (#6) took this Derek Iannapollo pass to the BTW 25 on a play starting at the 48 in the 3rd quarter.
Isaac Dyer (#23) rushed the ball from the 25 to the 10 yard line with less than 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
14 point swing -- This play (with the Cards 1st and goal at the 10) had the potential to cut the BTW lead in half but instead resulted in BTW's 3rd touchdown. The pass from Derek Iannapollo toward TJ Johnson was intercepted a few yards into the endzone and returned 100+ yards the other direction for a Hornet score at the 2:21 mark of the 3rd quarter. It was the only 2nd half TD for either team.
Shane Goossen (#21) got Collinsville down to the 10 yard line again early in the 4th quarter. This time on a Zane McElroy pass on 4th and 1 at the 46.
TJ Johnson (#6) had this Zane McElroy pass in his grasp briefly near the goal line but a big hit by the BTW defender dislodged the ball. On the next play a 4th down pass was a bit too tall and incomplete with ball going over on downs at the 8 with 8:40 left in the game.
Collinsville was called for interference on this BTW 4th quarter pass with the ball being placed at the 41.
The Collinsville Quarterback Club served pizza and cold drinks to the team in the parking lot after the game Friday before they boarded the bus to return home.
Matt Rodgers (#64) provided pass protection for Derek Iannopollo (#10) late in the game. Iannopollo & McElroy split time at quarterback for the Cardinals.
