* Snow Removal at all campuses mostly done over weekend
* Water leak in CHS annex Friday ... sprinkler froze ... found quickly
minimal damage
* Outside hydrant froze and broke (inside wall) overnight Friday causing
flooding (~4 inches) in 4 classrooms on north side of high school and
also into boys side of gym (dressing rooms ... not gym floor). BA restoration
company now has 3 of 4 classrooms ready for use Tuesday . Dehumidifier
still in use. Insurance claim will be filed.
*
Had another outside hydrant burst at CHS (9th grade) annex Monday ...
no inside damage.
* Two pump need replacing at Herald (sewer lift station)... and not
snow related ... likely $15-18K ... wear & tear.
16) Superintendents Report. -- Terry Due
reported on these topics:
* Several support personell worked during (5-day) snow break to get
payroll out and prep for board meet, etc. ... as well as snow clearing.
* Snow closing decisions were based on conditions of campuses, rural
bus routes and not keeping bus kids out in extreme cold ... and checking
neighbor schools. Commend city for excellent job on streets in town
and helping near the school campuses. Decisions last week after the
extreme snowfall were easy. Almost had school Monday except for issues
with two bus routes and classroom cleanups at HS. Will have school Tuesday
with restricted bus routes (those affected would have gotten letter
about two months ago) for no dead-end or turn-arounds.
* Middle School Honor Band had outstanding performance at OEMA convention.
* Oklahoma Baseball Hall of Fame & Coach of theYear Honors for Tony
Reeder.
* Hope state will allow delay in state testing due to snow days.
* Some uncertainty on policies with change of leadership at State Education
Dept.
