Frosh QB Zane McElroy (#13) has good protecton for this 1st quarter pass attempt from lineman ______? (#55), Cole Keim (#67), and Kennan Priddy (#40).
There are so many 9th grade Cardinal defenders in on this tackle that only the Coweta ball carrier's foot is visible.
Following a scoreless first quarter, Coweta was deep in Collinsville territory early in the second quarter when the pass in the right photo (defended by Dylan Dyer #83) was tipped to Dylan Cook (#11 not even in the view of the right photo). Cook managed several yards west to east but was stopped at the 6 yard (in the left photo).
Zane McElroy (#13) handoff to Conner Crutchfield (#16) with blocking up front by Cole Keim (#67), Collin Sullivan (78) and other lineman in the second quarter.
T.J. Johnson (#31) caught this Zane McElroy pass to get out to the 20 yard line a a first down in the final minute of the first half.
Collinsville's freshman spent the majority of the 2nd quarter working from their own 5 yard line all the way down to the Coweta 3 yard line (above) with Coweta intercepting this pass to keep the half scoreless. The Cardinals even had to content with an intentional grounding penalty on a spike to kill the clock?
Dylan Dyer (#83) was just clearing the line near mid field on his way to the endzone to get Collinsville on the scoreboard at 7:14 in the 3rd quarter.
Cole Keim (#67) and Kennan Hamilton (#38) both missed the tackle (above) but managed what appears to be a mid-air fist bump in the process (below).
Conner Crutchfield (#16) had running room on this 3rd quarter run.
Conner Crutchfield (#16) scored the final Cardinal touchdown on a 5-yard run with 2:59 left in the game. Zane McElroy's kick was good for a 13-6 score.
CARDINAL FOOTBALL
Jr. Hi Report By Coach Redding (10/1/2010)
October 4th-8th

If you are a fan of the Three Musketeers, and you were at Sallee Field Thursday night, you could say the 7th, 8th and 9th grade football teams are the “swashbucklers” of Cardinal Football. The Cardinal Jr. Hi teams were just too much for the Coweta Tigers. The defense for all 3 teams registered a first half shut out in all 3 games. The offenses of each team control the air and ground game with devastating effects. The kicking game shows a need for some improvement and there will be emphasis placed in this area this week. The 7th grade (4-0) pounded the Tigers by a score of 28-12. The 8th grade (3-1) assaulted the Tigers by a score of 37-20. The 9th grade (3-1) out schemed the Tigers 13-6. No injuries were reported.
Our next opponent is the Pryor Tigers Thursday,5:00 at Sallee Field.
Our game with Skiatook has been moved to October 14th. The 7th grade “Blue” will play Skiatook October 11th, 5:30, there. The 8th grade “Blue” will play at Skiatook October 18th, at 5:30. We are trying to work out a Blue game with Coweta, TBA.
We as coaches really do appreciate all the support you give our teams. There are times during a game when we are shuffling players in and out to try and get everyone a chance to play, we seem a bit unorganized, but we are trying our best to play each player. We want to “WIN” and we want to try to give each player a chance to play.
I would like to acknowledge our signal callers on “O”, Ben Davis, and “D” Steve Sparks. Good job coaches. Also Brian Phillips will be joining our staff after school each day.
Jeffery Buchfink’s family lost a love one this past week. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers. Also Chris Kallin broke his foot this past week during drills and Scheaffer Smith had knee surgery, due to an injury during the Tahlequah game. Plus, Corbin Bell and Matt Young are recovering well to their broken bones.
Hope to see you Thursday night.
Coach’m up
