BOARD OF EDUCATION
COLLINSVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 6
TULSA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA

As required by Section 311, Title 25 of the Oklahoma Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 6, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, will hold a SPECIAL MEETING on Tuesday May 25, 2010 at 12:00 o'clock Noon, at the Education Service Center, Bank of the Lakes Center, Collinsville Public School, 1119 West Broadway, Collinsville, Oklahoma.

AGENDA

The following is a list of the business to be conducted by the Board of Education at the above meeting:

1. Call meeting to order.
2. Roll call. -- all present with Donna Sears arriving for item 4.
3. Board to consider and take possible action, in the absence of the President and/or Clerk, to appoint an acting President and/or acting Clerk for the School District to execute any and all documents pertaining to the bond sale.
4. Board to receive bids for the $1,100,000 Combined Purpose Building Bonds of this School District and award bonds to the lowest bidder. -- approved accepting low interest bid of Country Club Bank of Kansas City with a rate of 1.37%. Four other bids were received including RCB and American Bank locally. All bids were very close and competitive ranging from (1.27 to 1.6% interest)
5. Board to consider and take action on a resolution providing for the issuance of combined purpose building bonds in the sum of $1,100,000 by this school district, authorized at an election called and held for such purpose; prescribing form of bonds; providing for registration thereof; providing for levy of an annual tax for the payment of principal and interest on the same; and fixing other details of issue. -- approved
6. Board to consider and take action on a resolution designating the general obligation bonds of 2010 as "Qualified Tax-Exempt Obligations" pursuant to Section 265(b)(3)(B) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. -- approved
7. Discussion and Vote to Approve Student Accounting System for FY2011. -- -- approved bid from Mass Inc (of Shawnee). About 80% of Oklahoma schools are using the same product. Training questionswere to be resolved this week. The yearly cost would be ~$26K based on 2600 kids. Lunch tracking is part of this system.
8. Vote to Approve Beverage Vending and Snack Vending Contract for One (1) Year with Possible Four (4) One (1) Year Renewals. -- tabled. The draft contract looks OK but waiting for final version from Coke. Might be issue with 1-vs-5 year term.
9. Vote to Purchase 2009 Chevy Van for $17,600 from Kent's Auto. -- approved with the total price at $22.6K after adusting for a lift swap for the special needs kids this vehicle will support (to/from vo-tech).
10. Discussion and Vote to Approve School District Policy for Requirements for High Qualified Paraprofessionals and Assistants. -- approved, all will either have 2yrs college (48 hours) or pass an online test that was being given today at Herald. This allows more flexibility spending Title I dollars if district-wide "highly Qualified".
11. Vote to Set Two (2) Special School Board Meeting Dates for June 2010. -- July 28th was already set at previous meet. Other date (for training) tabled for now.
12. Adjournment.
