Paige DeLozier Named To All-State Golf Team

CHS Athletic Director Jim Riley announced July 12, 2010 (at the School Board meeting) that Paige DeLozier had been added as a member of the 2010 Oklahoma All-State Golf Team (Large East). Paige will compete in the All-State matches in Tulsa at Mohawk Park July 22-30th

Paige shot her lowest score of her high school career at the 2010 State Tournament with an 84. She shot a 2 day total of 180 and finished 16th out of 71 girls in the 5A Golf State Championship in May.

Kayla Burchett Memorial Scholarship
Three recent CHS graduates (and key members of the CHS softball team) were presented checks and their families treated to a catered dinner Monday July 12, 2010 at the First Baptist Church. The three (Kylee Cole, Rachel Pitts and Lacie Cook) will share the 2010 Kayla Burchett Memorial Scholarship. Making the presentations Monday were Kayla's grandmother (Brenda Smalygo) and Rick Norris (out-going President of the Collinsville Girl's Softball Association). The annual scholarship is named in honor of Kayla Burchett who was slain in August 2005 (along with her mother and stepfather) when she was just 10 years old.
Kylee Cole (center) and her Mom (right) accepted a check and memorial t-shirt from Brenda Smalygo.
Lacie Cook (and her Mom & Dad) accepted a check and memorial t-shirt from Brenda Smalygo.
Rachel Pitts (and her family) accepted a check and memorial t-shirt from Brenda Smalygo Monday.
Lacie & Rachel will be softball teammates at Labette and Kylee will play at NEO next season.

The three 2010 scholarship winners posed as their softball senior group above Kayla's sign and in front of the scoreboard in August 2009.
