Kayla
Burchett Memorial Scholarship
Three recent CHS graduates (and key members of the CHS softball team) were presented checks and their families treated to a catered dinner Monday July 12, 2010 at the First Baptist Church. The three (Kylee Cole, Rachel Pitts and Lacie Cook) will share the 2010 Kayla Burchett Memorial Scholarship. Making the presentations Monday were Kayla's grandmother (Brenda Smalygo) and Rick Norris (out-going President of the Collinsville Girl's Softball Association). The annual scholarship is named in honor of Kayla Burchett who was slain in August 2005 (along with her mother and stepfather) when she was just 10 years old. | ||
