Dance
For ... Foster Care Awareness
|
||||
Dance for Love Dance
for Hope, a dance convention to benefit the Laura Dester Childrens
Center was started by Owassos own Miss Owassos Outstanding
Teen and former Miss Collinsville Outstanding Teen, MiShell Garrett
Her platform and passion is Foster Care Awareness, MiShell wanted
to get more involved in making a difference in a childs forever
so she started her own dance convention. Area Dance Teachers donated their
time, PC Dance Studio donated the space and on November 13, 2010 the benefit
took place. 100% of all money raised was given to the Center for the kids.
MiShell plans to make this an annual event. Look for it next year
around the same time.= -- Joanna Birkenholtz (12/11/2010) |

Thank
You Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven
|
Just wanted to let
the people of Collinsville know what good dogs there are at the Ward Wiseman
Ctr. the day before thanksgiving our min pin of 11 years died of kidney failure, my mother and i were home by ourselves, my dad and brother gone t see family... we didn't have the heart to ruin their vacation so thanksgiving morning 7 am we showed up at the shelter, all the dogs went crazy, except ONE 7 mo. lab mix puppy. She sat back in her kennel, until we approached her, and then nearly licked our hands off... we took her home not 20 minutes later... and gave her the name Paisely... she was so easily trainable, though she doesn't realize how big she is sometimes. She's still learning, and we all have falleni n love, my brother runs with her almost daily, her pink collar and leash flopping like crazy, she loves playing fetch with dad and us girls, and has to say HI! to our mail lady every day... she's a real family dog and we are thankful to the Ward Wiseman Animal Haven for letting us adopt our girl Paisely and give her a good home They do such great things for animals ! Thank you again -- Sara Lisowski (12/12/2010) |
