Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive
Students and staff at Wilson Elementary teamed up to help others at Thanksgiving. Our school had a food drive and collected cans, boxes, and whole meals for families who may need an extra helping hand during this holiday season. During the week of November 16-20, each class collected food items to donate to the Church of Christ Food Pantry. We are all thankful for what we have and wanted to share with others.
Showing a few items from a "truckload" of food collected for the Pantry are 1st grade teacher Marney Flippo and 2nd grade teacher Karen Atkinson.

ECC McTeacher’s Night Fundraiser
Welcome to McDonald’s! How may I help you?

Collinsville Early Childhood Center has set a record for money earned during a McTeacher’s Night fundraiser. Tim Rich, owner of the McDonald’s restaurant where the fundraiser took place on November 10th, presented a check to Janice Pollard, ECC principal, in the amount of $2,781.81 during a recent assembly at the ECC. Also on hand for the presentation were Harry and Beverly Lossing, McDonald’s Customer Relations, and Gerald Hoffman, owner of P&K Tractor of Owasso. Mr. Hoffman donated a John Deere bicycle for a raffle held during McTeacher’s Night which was won by ECC student Isaac Lawhead.

McTeacher’s Night is a fundraising event where teachers and other staff members volunteer at a local McDonald’s restaurant for an evening. A percentage of the evening’s profits are then donated to the participating school. The teachers cleaned tables, sold McDonald’s pies, and sold raffle tickets. Students and their families made up a large portion of the customers during the evening making it a lot of fun for the entire community.

Mrs. Pollard and the ECC staff wish to thank Mr. Rich, Mr. and Mrs. Lossing, and Mr. Hoffman, all McDonald’s employees at the 116th Street North location, and all participating ECC families for making McTeacher’s Night such a wonderful, profitable experience for our students and our school.

Bicycle winner Isaac Lawhead with Tim Rich, Janice Pollard, Harry and Beverly Lossing, Richard Lawhead, and Gerald Hoffman.
