Bob Williams Memorial Scholarship

The Bob Williams Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament Hosted by First Baptist Church Collinsville, OK

On April 18th, at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Claremore, First Baptist Church of Collinsville will be hosting their annual golf tournament in order to raise money for summer missions.
As quoted by Associate Pastor and Tournament Director, Tony Michela, “I look forward to this event every year. It’s such a privilege to reflect upon a friend that made such a positive impact on so many people. I remember the first year that I sat down with our men from the church to organize this event. Bob was there and right in the big middle of it all because he cared and wanted to be a part of anything that had to do with making a positive impact on a person’s life. He was also the first one to hand me $100 to sponsor a hole. That was just the kind of man he was. He made a great impact on my life and I know there are many others out there that would say the same.”
Tournament tee times will begin around noon. Michela says about the tournament, “It’s going to be a great day. Bob’s family and dear wife, Estelle, will be with us once again as our guest of honor. Also, we will have a gift bag for everyone who participates, plenty of things to give away through our raffle drawing, and plenty of food.. Believe me, you won’t go away empty handed. And to tell you the truth, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday. Plus, it’s fitting because even the money that is raised will be used for our summer mission trip which is specifically designed to be about the very thing that Bob sought to do: change lives. And with that being said, even if you’re not a golfer, there are so many ways that you can contribute. We have things setup where you can sponsor a hole for $100, donate to the general operations of the golf tournament for food, door prizes, and awards, or even help with setup and the overall functions for that day.”
Individual Entries are $60. The format for the golf tournament will be a 4 person scramble. For more information or to enter the golf tournament, please contact Tony Michela @ 371-2526 or visit the FBC website @ www.fbccollinsville.org for an online entry form. Entries must be received by April 14th.

First Baptist Remodeling Complete
Sunday services have been held in the newly remodled First Baptist Church Sanctuary the past two weeks following nine weeks of services in other parts of the building while major revisions were being made. One of the most obvious changes is movable chairs instead of fixed pews on the new carpeting.
