Grant Shafer Army Update
As a point of information for some and notification to others, Grant asked us to forward a note to everyone with many thanks to all who sent cards and care packages! His redeployment back to the U.S. from the Middle East will be in the next 60-90 days. Therefore, he can no longer receive mail overseas.

Upon his return to the U.S., he will be relocating to Ft. Bliss, TX (El Paso) from Ft. Wainwright, AK (Fairbanks). His current plan is to take about six weeks of leave - Thanksgiving to New Year's - for vacation and relocation. His enlistment expires December 2011.

We are putting together a "Welcome Home" box that will be sent to Ft. Wainwright and be given to him through the Family Readiness Group (FRG). Grant's group will be flying directly back to Alaska, so we will not see him until he takes leave. If you would like to send a card or pictures of you welcoming him home, we will put it all together and ship it to the FRG before he returns. The FRG has asked that we ship everything to Alaska around the 1st of August. (Please note that any addresses you have had for Grant are no longer active, including the PO box at Ft. Wainwright.)

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and other acts of support, not only for Grant, but also for all our military members in combat zones around the world!
