New CHS Principal: Jon Coleman

Most recently assistant principal at the middle school, Jon Coleman had been the head coach of the CHS girls basketball team through spring 2004. Mr. Coleman was selected to be the new CHS principal by a 7-member search committee that interviewed 6 candidates. Coleman was formally approved for the position June 29th by the Collinsville School Board and replaces Cory Slagle who moved to the Houston, Texas, area earlier this month.

Our Local VFW Needs Your Help!

Members of Collinsville Post 3077 could really use your support. The air conditioning / heating unit at the
Post is in dire need of replacement.

As a fundraiser, the Ladies Auxiliary has partnered with Schwan’s Food. On Friday, July 24th, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m., a representative will be at the American Legion Building on Main Street. Each purchase will result in a portion returning to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary to fund the VFW’s climate control unit.

Schwan’s will have various products available to purchase on its truck, but you can also pre-order on-line at www.schwansfundraising.com (using campaign i.d. # 23282) and stop by to pick it up.

If you prefer, donations can also be made directly. Checks can be made payable to “3077 Ladies Auxiliary” and mailed to the following address:
3077 L/A
c/o Paula Caudill
717 N. 21st
