Great News For Collinsville Library, City of Collinsville, and TCCL

David Pettyjohn, Assistant Director, for the Oklahoma Humanities Council called today to tell us that our application to host the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, Key Ingredients: America By Food, was awarded to Collinsville Library.

The Grant was submitted in October, David Pettyjohn and Director Ann Thompson were here for a site visit in November. We will be one of six cities in Oklahoma to host the exhibition.

The dates have not been set but it will be for 6 weeks in 2010-2011, nor do I know which other 5 cities will be hosting the exhibition. As soon as I have the details I will forward to you.

Many thanks to you, Suanne for recommending that I apply for this fantastic exhibition, and to the Collinsville Chamber, 4-H groups, the City of Collinsville, our Mayor Sallee, Superintendent of Schools Terry Due, and a multitude of others for writing the letters of endorsement for the Collinsville Library. This will be a highlight for the library as well as the City of CV.

Details to follow. YEA!!

Big Library News Below ...
I only search the 1000s (maybe millions?) of photos in my cvilleok.com archive one time each year. If you don't request student CDs (and pay at least half) by Dec. 31 you would need to wait another year. -- Ted Wright -- wrightted@aol.com
