This new storage building adjacent to the Middle School (14th & Spring) was nearly completed this week. Similar sized buildings have been added at most campuses in the past half year.
I have noticed (as has my dog Georgia in the phone book photo above) that the rabbit population seems to be growing around my neighborhood. It is unusual to not see at least one when we take our daily short walk from the museum to the house. -- Ted
The sewer "smoke tests" (apparently) caused a brief flurry at Wilson Elementary about 1:45pm Monday as the City Fire Dept was called to check smoke in the teacher's lounge. -- Ted 8/3
Work was completed recently to level a dropoff beyond the infield at the CHS Cardinal's baseball field. (Previous coverage: 8/3/2009 School Board meet).
Contractors had completed applying the new surface on the 4 tennis courts in City Park by Thursday and then started repainting the lines. New paint was still being applied to some courts while masking tape was being removed from lines already dried.
A check of the tennis courts Friday evening (Aug. 7, 2009) showed all the new lines completed and the nets back in place. The nets also appear either new or repaired? (Previous Coverage)
