Collinsville
started the 3rd quarter with Kyle Rush (#32) taking direct snaps and gaining from
the 16 to the 41 on five consecutive carries.
Lane
Coulter checked back in and handed off to Kyle Rush (#32) gaining to Grove's 45
on this 6th straight carry. Merin Oakley had the next run to Grove's 34. Dalton
Salisbury reached the 33. Rush had a no gain. The Card's had a loss on 4th down
with Grove taking over on downs at their own 36 with 5:55 left in the 1st quarter.
Grove then drove on their first 3rd quarter possession down to the Cardinal 8
yard line and kicked a field goal early in the 4th quarter. These were the only
2nd half points setting the score to 14-31.
Merin
Oakley (#30) took Grove's kickoff (after the field goal) out to Collinsville's
22.
Lane
Coulter handed off to Kyle Rush (#32) for a gain to the 23 early in the 4th quarter
(starting only the second Collinsville 2nd half possession). The Cards picked
up one first down before a penalty moved the back and ended up punting with Grove
starting at Collinsville's 43.
Jared
Billups made some sideline repairs to his helmet during the 4th quarter.
The
Cardinal defense did not allow a first down on the 2nd Grove 2nd-half possession
with Collinsville taking over on downs with 6 minutes left in the game (near the
38). Collinsville then moved to Grove's 30 before turing the ball over on downs
at 4:35.
Grove
gave Collinsville one last chance for 2nd half points when a punt snap sailed
over their punter's head (on the ground above behind the ref's sock). Collinsville
had the ball at Grove's 29 yard line with 1:29 left.
Thomas
Isam (#88) took a Lane Coulter pass to the 17 yard line in the final Cardinal
drive.
Dalton
Rasmussen (#85) was ruled out of bounds on this 4th down pass catch at the goal
line with 37.2 seconds left in the game.
