Roberts presented a survey of several local high schools most of which had either a Native American or African American elective course. Roberts also reported he is working with the Cherokee Nation (via District 8 councilman Buel Anglen, Dr Neil Morton, and Chief Chad Smith) on possible funding aid for associated books and salaries. The Collinsville Board could not act as the item was not on the agenda, but gave favorable nods to the idea and the administration pledged to investigate how/when that might be possible to implement.
