Hi Ted, We met James & his daughter Trinity following Jennifay singing "God Bless The USA" at the Annual Hogs & Hot Rods Festival. James is a Collinsville resident that recently returned home to Collinsville after completing two tours of duty in Iraq. Kyle Wright & Tyler Roy also in picture were Hogs & Hot Rods volunteers that expressed their appreciation to James. Kyle & Tyler also graciously assisted us with moving the heavy sound equipment. PARTNERS WITH CITY OF COLLINSVILLE FOR FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION...Grand
River Dam Authority's Community Relations Coordinator Laura Schuchman
presented a check to Collinsville City Manager Pam Polk in the amount
of $3,000 for the City of Collinsville on May 21. The sponsorship will
be used toward the collaborative effort of the city, Main Street Association,
Collinsville Round-Up Club, along with many volunteers in the city's Fourth
of July celebration.
"We have a great city, and we want every aspect of it to instill a positive image. We appreciate our partnership with GRDA in helping us achieve a positive image with this event," said Polk. The festivities
are scheduled to begin Thursday, July 3rd at 6:00 PM at Collinsville
City Park. There will be games, a live band, concession stands,
and contests followed with the fireworks show. |
After the firework show there will be a street dance in the park. We look forward to seeing everyone there! -- Thanks, Melissa Whitlock (City of Collinsville) 6/19/2008 -- (Last Year) |
