Cardinals Qualify 5 Wrestlers for State Tournament
Collinsville's Michael Maul and Dalton Salisbury won Regional Championships while Jayce Crowder, Michael Pitts, and Matt West placed in the top 4 to stamp their tickets to the Oklahoma State High School Wrestling Tournament in OKC. Maul pinned Tim Taylor of Nobel in 25 second to earn his 1st place medal in the 160 lb final while Salisbury scored a takedown in overtime to beat Spencer Hobbs of Catoosa in the 189 lb final. Crowder placed 4th at 145 lbs, Pitts finished 3rd at 152, and West placed 3rd at 215 lbs. Collinsville was participating in the Class 4A Eastern Regional for the first time. They normally wrestle in Class 3A but have moved up a Class due to an increase in school enrollment. Competition starts this friday at 10:00 am at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Arena in OKC. - Coach Riley --2-17-2008
