9-1-1 Hero Award To Be Presented

The Collinsville Fire Departmrnt is proud to present a
9-1-1 Hero Award to one well deserving young citizen of our community.

On December 10, 2008, at approximately 6:01 pm, Morgan Webb witnessed her mother fall to the floor unresponsive. Morgan immediately went to the neighbor's house and summoned help. Morgan then returned to her home to care for her younger brother until fire personnel arrived to provide care.

The actions of this young person were instrumental in activating the 9-1-1 system to summon medical personnel to her location in order to administer aid. To honor her quick actions and calm demeanor she will receice an award from her respective call takers.

On Friday, January 16, 2009, Collinsville Fire Departmrnt will be presenting a 9-1-1 Hero Award to 5 year old Morgan Webb, Morgan is a first grade student at Oologah/Talata Lower Elementary School, located at 9500 South Hwy 169, in Oologah. The award presentation will occur at approximately 8:15 am during the morning assembly. A second award will be presented on January 19, 2009 at the Collinsville Commission Meeting located at 1202 W. Main, In Collinsville. The award presentation will occur at approximately 7:00 pm.

The primary purpose of the 9-1-1 Hero program is to reward children who have demonstrated, through their actions, an understanding of the proper use of the emergency 9-1-1 system. The 9-1-1 call must either be self initiated by the child and/or the child followed pre-arrival medical instructions, or performed some other herioic act. Morgan will be receiving a 9-1-1 Plaque, 9-1-1 Medal, a personalized 9-1-1 Hero Certificate of Recognition, and a "9-1-1 Hero" T-shirt.

We are proud to recognize this little hero and invite representatives of the local media to join us in recognizing her accomplishment.
