Challenge Basketball Team Needs A Name
Where Do I Go Next? -- The CHS band was learning their new program on the new field turf Monday morning at Sallee Field. They now have the opportunity to practice on the actual field daily instead of a rough practice field (which is now half drainage area and parking lot).
First through sixth grade cheerleaders were participating in the annual camp hosted by the CHS varsity cheerlearers this week at the high school campus.
CHS Principal Cory Slagle (left) was helping these seniors with some enrollment paperwork Monday.
These young cheerleaders took a timeout for a water fountain break inside CHS Monday morning.
105 Degree High Expected Today

The Internationally-Acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors will be visiting Collinsville
January 14, 2009
7pm at the CHS Gym

CHS Head Basketball Coach Ryan Christian gave me a heads up today on this event (which is months away) but a more immediate need is to name the basketball team of local coaches (and possibily local 'celebrities') that will challenge the Harlem Ambassadors. Contact Coach Christian in the next few weeks with your suggestions. The top selections will be posted and voted on soon.

The fundraiser event is hosted by the local 3-Point Club (basketball boosters) and the Home Run Club (baseball boosters) to benefit their Collinsville sports programs. The Harlem Ambassadors will also visit Herald Elementary the morning of the event to present a program. The traveling team will be also be playing at hundreds of other small communities.

"Offering a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines, the Harlem Ambassadors are a team of talented male and female basketball players that are drug-free, college-educated and positive in appearance. They are committed to giving their audiences quality family entertainment and serving as positive role models for young people."

Visit www.harlemambassadors.com to learn more about the Harlem Ambassadors. Contact Coach Ryan Christian if you or your organization would like to help sponsor this event to assist the Collinsville Basketball and Baseball programs.
