Sallee Field Turf Progressing
With the massive mid-field Cardinal now in place, CHS athletic director Bill Rule is wondering what can be done to assist officials with football spotting and measurements on top of the "bird". The sand and rubber filler placement is due later this week with lettering completed in the north endzone but still in progress Monday afternoon July 14th in the south endzone (below).
Soccer Too -- The permanent outer edges of the soccer field extends beyond the football playing surface. The soccer goal box will be marked with non-permanant paint (during soccer season) which is supposed to wear off before football starts each year.
Four days ago the hash marks were in place and the numbers were being "shaved" out. Today the yard line numbers were in place as well as the mid-field Cardinal.
This hot air balloon was passing over city park when I heard it Sunday evening while mowing at my house a few blocks away. -- Ted
After a layer of sand, the many waiting bags full of rubber granuals will be added to the Sallee Field surface later this week.
