6th Grade Football Fundraisers
We would like to announce to everyone that the Collinsville 6th grade Black football team will be hosting a 25 family garage sale this coming Saturday, Aug 30th, to help raise money for their out of state tournament at the end of the year. The garage sale will be at our practice field which is located directly behind the Collinsville Youth Baseball Complex and we will open promptly at 7am. We would like to encourage everyone to come out and show their support for these talented young men. This is their last year of youth football and representing Collinsville in an out of state tournament would be a great way to end it. On behalf of Ron Koscheski, all the players, and family members of Collinsville 6th grade Black, we would also like to thank everyone for coming out to our car wash today and supporting the boys. They had a great time and with the support of the community got off to a great start raising money for their trip. Thank you everyone! -- M. Wilkins (8/24/2008)
Donated Baby Layettes
Four possible new members met with the Collinsville Patchworkers Aug. 12 at the Library, and shared their own Show and Tell, and enjoyed a video of a PBS quilting show as the program for the evening. Janice Coke displayed several of the quilts she will be taking to Shriners' Hospital in LA in the near future, and members gathered together their donations for Newborns In Need - several preemie layettes, knitted caps and booties, and over 30 assorted small quilts, receiving blankets, as well as other needed items that will be given to area hospitals through the local chapter. The next meeting will be Sept. 11, and the fat quarter drawing color will be purple. Visitors are always welcome!
