Youth Baseball Improvements
Ted ,just wanted to let you know we are all finished with our concession stand and bathrooms out at the sportsplex. We had a lot of people donate their time and material to help get our facilities upgraded due to the growth of the community. I would like to personally thank all of my board members and coaches for spending time out there and helping, I would last like to thank Pat Herald and Terry Due and all the Collinsville School Board for approving our building to be built. If anybody gets anytime on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday starting at 6 pm come on out and watch these great young men grow and learn the fundamentals of baseball. One day some of these young men will be our future High Schools stars. Thanks Ron Koscheski (4/15/2008)
April 19 ... Third Saturday At
Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven
Barbara Linden, AKC Judge, dog trainer and all around lover of pets will be at the Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven on Saturday April 19, 2008 to answer your training and nutrition questions about your pets listening ability and health. Barb has been in the business for 24 years and can help you when it comes to training your pet. She also has advice on the best nutrition for your pet. Barb says,"I am not a nutritionist but have learned by working with pets throughout the years." A pet who understands you and who you understand makes for a happier situation for all.

This is the first of our Third Saturday activities planned for Ward-Wiseman. Come out from Noon-3:00 to visit with Barb, tour our facility, and get to know our pets. They will all be ready to greet you and will be decked out in their best bandannas.

For more information call 371-1009.

Collinsville Tri-County Fair Board Meet
Just a reminder that the April Fair Board meeting will be held on April 21, at 7:30pm, at Collinsville Bank of the Lakes. For those who missed the last meeting we had good attendance but once again talk was that this just might be the LAST fair. It was also decided that there will be fair book this year, if you have classes/categories that need posted we will still put them on our website. Get them to me as soon as you can!

Another reminder we need Supervisors for the Beef and Swine shows, if you know someone who might be interested invite them to this meeting!

If you have questions call me 371-8236.

Thanks!
Deb Lutz, Fair Board Secretary (4/3/2008)

Another house is being removed for the future S-Curve re-alignment near 19th Street between Broadway and Main. The new right-of-way clearing began in January 2008.
Danny Stanley (President of the Victory Cherokee Organization) presented plans for the new VCO Community Center to the Collinsville Board of Adjustments Monday April 14th, 2008. The center is funded by a grant from the Cherokee Nation.
(Previous Coverage)
The planned community center at the Victory Cemetery is another step closer to final approval. The Collinsville Board of Adjustment allowed a use variance for the center Monday. The board members are Ron Scott, Gerald Branen, Connie Goad & Shannon Stubblefield. Ward 2 is currently unrepresented on the board but Herb Weaver was mentioned as a potential candidate soon. Annexation into the city for the small historical Victory Cemetery (just north of town off 12th Street) is also in the approval cycle with the city commission. Danny Stanley indicated the new VCO center would also be available for use by the general public.
The Collinsville Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing Thursday (April 17th at 6:30pm) with restrictions on advertising signs and metal commercial building on their agenda.
