Using
the July 2007 Sales Tax report as an example, I have listed just a few
of the 501 Oklahoma communities below to help put Collinsville's numbers
in perspective. I didn't look at every community, but Vera at $475 and
Oklahoma City at $28 million appear to set the range for that month's
sales tax distributions. You can click on the Oklahoma Tax Commission
monthly reports listed below if you wish more detailed information.--

Figures above are sales tax only (not use tax) ... Collinsville had another $6671 in use tax and Tulsa got another $1.5 million.

The number that would be most interesting (but not available) is the amount of sales tax dollars spent in other communities like Owasso & Tulsa by Collinsville residents. Most of those dollars never make it back to Collinsville. The current sales tax total is 8.517% (typical in Tulsa county communities) with the state taking 4.5%, the county getting 1.017% and the city handling the transaction getting 3%. |
