The table above shows the sales and use tax revenue that that has gone to the City of Collinsville thus far this year. Only whole dollars are shown to simplify table.
Having approved the Vision 2025 package (back in September 2003) Tulsa County residents will begin paying the new sales tax rates in January 2004. The county portion of the tax rate changes from 0.4170% to 1.0170% (a 6/10 penny increase and does not include any of a potential 4/10 penny also approved for Boeing).
The current 7.917% sales tax
is composed of the following:

City 3%
County 0.417%
State 4.5%
Total 7.917%
I assume the new 2004 sales tax will reflect the following:
City 3%
County 1.017%
State 4.5%
Total 8.517%
Use tax is a tax paid on goods purchased outside the state of Oklahoma where the tax was not charged in another state. The most common example is when something is purchased from an out-of-state mail order company. If the mail order company does not collect the Oklahoma tax then the Oklahoma resident is responsible for remitting the tax.
Collinsville residents were definitely paying less actual taxes in the pre-statehood example above ... but I don't know the relative rates. In a "delinquent tax list" a few months later the amounts still due ranged from 30c to $72. -- Ted 12/11/2003
Don't forget your 2003 Real Estate Taxes due before 2004.
Thank you to Collinsville City Clerk Dana Conner for the City information above -- Ted
