All persons interested in attending the Regularly Scheduled School Board Meeting for Collinsville Public Schools, Independent District I-6, should make plans to attend the meeting at the following date, time and place to wit: Date: Monday Aug. 6, 2007 -- Time: 7:00 p.m.

1) Call to Order and Roll Call of Members.
2) Record of Members Present and Absent. -- all present except Wendell Johnson
3) Presentation by the Constituency. -- none
4) Reading of Minutes - July 16, 2007 Regular Meeting. -- approved

I switched back to the city commission meetings at this point and have only results after the school board's lengthy executive session below. -- Ted


5) Approval of Purchase Orders and Payment of Purchase Orders - FY2008 General, Building Funds and FY2007 General and Building Fund Reserves and All District Funds - Approval of Budgets, Reports, Allocations and Investments.
6) Discussion and Vote to Approve Activity Fund Fund-raisers.
7) Discussion and Vote to Accept Bids and Purchases:
--a) Transportation Insurance Bid for FY2008.

8) Discussion and Vote to Approve School District Accreditition and School Improvement Status Report from State Department of Education.

18) Accept as Substantially Complete the High School Track and Early Childhood Center. -- approved ... still work in progress on both ...

19) Discussion And Vote To Increase CNP-Cafeteria Prices -- Collinsville school lunch prices were increased (for the first time since 2001 and for only the 2nd time in 22 years) at the 8/6/2007 School Board meet. No changes to K-8th breakfast (still $1) or low-income meals. K-5 Elementary lunch now $1.75 (was $1.50). Secondary lunch now $2 (was $1.75). Adult lunch now $2.75 (was $2.50). These prices include one milk. An extra milk was increased to 30 cents (was 25 cents). The increase was made as the CNP program was starting to run in the red. The new prices are still similar or lower than most neighboring schools. Pat Herald mentioned that dairy product prices alone were up 35% in just the past year. [8/7 Update: Adult breakfast $1.50; Guest Breakfast $3; Guest Lunch $4.25]

20) Assistant Superintendent's Report. -- Terry Due's report:

  • Early Childhood Center (ECC) ...
    • Floors will be waxed Thurs/Fri
    • Turf will be added now that outside water lines have been filled.
    • Rural fire department will help with initial grass watering
    • Expect inside water this week
    • Building walk through last week ... punchlist work continues
  • Track
    • ramps and turnstiles will be installed soon
    • some lighting will be added for evening public use


21) Superintendent's Report.
-- Pat Herald's report:

  • Thank you to Meadowcreek Methodist Church (& Rev. Tommy Seale) for the school supply drive which is a great effort to benefit to help our kids

22) Announcements.

  • Thank you to the CHS athletes that helped move furniture into the ECC last week.


23) New Business (if any):

  • A change to the school calandar adds two different evening parent-teacher conference date to the existing daytime parent-teacher conferences previously set for Oct. 17th and Feb. 15. The new sessions will be 4-7pm Oct 15 & 16 and Feb. 11 & 12th to allow more parents to participate.
  • Several re-assignments and hours changes to adjust for the additional cafeteria needs of the new ECC.
