Collinsville
Picked Up Their
Second District Win
Kyle
Rush (#32) blocked Jay's only extra point attempt which had the score tied at
6-6 with 4:52 left before half time.
The
photo above shows the Collinsville offensive line preparing to break Jarred
Billups (#4) free from the Collinsville 36 down to the Jay 4 yard line (below)
just 1 offensive play from scrimmage after Jay had tied the score at 6-6.
After
Billups' run to the 4 (above), Kevin Phillips (no photo) ran the final 4 yards
for the go-ahead Cardinal touchdown at 3:35 (2nd quarter) and a 12-6 lead with
the extra point pass attempt blocked.
Kevin
Phillips (#11) intercepted this Jay pass and got it out to the Card 35 with
1:25 left in the first half.
Dalton
Rasmussen (#85) took this Lane Coulter pass out to Collinsvile's 49 with just
under a minute left in the first half. Jay intercepted the next pass and had
one more scoring chance before half from near mid field with 46.6 seconds.
This
Cardinal defender (McCoy, Hamilton or Riley?) was about to sack the Jay QB when
he threw the ball out of bounds, but was called for intentionally grounding
and the ball moved back to Jay's 37. A holding call 2 plays later also helped
stop Jay before half time.
Jarred
Billups (#4) is tackled in this early 3rd quarter action.
QB
Lane Coulter (#7) got good pass protection on this 3rd quarter play from Jarrod
Shearer (#63), Nick Green (#55) and another Cardinal blocker. The pass was completed
to Dalton Rasmussen but was negated by a a penalty.
