Tulsa's Centennial Year Kick-Off

Tulsa has been designated the official host city for the kickoff of the year long Oklahoma Centennial celebration, and many exciting events are currently being planned.
I found the following two "Official Centennial Events" for Collinsville listed on the state's site -- Ted 7/27/2006 http://www.oklahomacentennial.com/Projects.php

The following text is from a 2-page history I wrote for Collinsville just ahead of the (December 2003) deadline for an Oklahoma Centennial publication with a history for each community. I had to sign over the "exclusive right to publish" so that document will be the only place to view that total story. An alternate Collinsville history is on the "About Us" page on cvilleok.com. I will have a bit more to say about the Oct. 1907 Collinsville Pow-Wow in future Centennial pages. -- Ted Wright -- July 27, 2006
[... Collinsville also continues to have plenty of celebrations and parades each year, but none will likely match the excitement of the "Last Great Pow-Wow Before Statehood" held in Collinsville in October 1907. Geronimo was the featured guest (from the federal prison) but there were members of many Indian tribes here during this six day pow-wow and fair. Among those listed in the agenda before the event were: Chief Rogers of the Cherokees, Geronimo of the Apaches, Quanah Parker of the Comanches, Lone Wolf of the Kiowas, Spybuck of the Shawnees, and O-lo-co-wah-la of the Osage. The festivities included war dances, stomp dances, greyhound dog races, and a carnival, from October 14 to 19th, just a month before statehood.]
Ted Wright Notes 7/27/2006: The Centennial Events descriptions above (from the state web site) are copied exactly as they appear there. I assume the 2006 Cherokee Chopper info will be modified for the 2007 Hogs & Hot Rods.
I checked with City Manager Pam Polk today and she indicated the Parade & Plaza info was accurate although the National Guard fly-by was not yet verified.
Tulsa will officially kick off the Centennial celebration year in 2006. Oklahoma City will host several featured activities in 2007. Most other Oklahoma communities will host their own events during the years. Hundreds of events, activities, documents, sights and sounds are listed on the State's Centennial Site.
The Centennial Parade
Oct 14, 2007

The largest parade in Oklahoma history will be held in downtown Oklahoma City for all Oklahomans on Oct. 14, 2007. For more information or to apply to participate in The Centennial Parade.
The 1902 "complaint" (above) from Indian Territority was reprinted in "The Collinsville News" from a New York publication more than 5 years before statehood.
Editor W. L. Wright gave his opinion on statehood options in 1902.
