Two
Non-Injury Accidents On Main Street Friday /
Marmont Building Progress / Middle
School Sign
This 2 vehicle accident occured at 10th and Main St. about 3:30pm Friday. No one was hurt but damage to the front end of the vehicle below was significant. |
Occupants of a 3 vehicle accident check for damage just minutes after I heard a crash out the front door of the Newspaper Museum Friday at 6:30pm. No one was injured. |
These two photos show the same ground from opposite views and many years apart. The top photo from the steps of the old Central High School looks towards 14th and Center. The bottom view looks from 14th and Center back towards the Middle School Library and band room. I show this location as it will soon change again as a message sign will replace the dead tree. The sign has arrived and will be installed in the next few weeks. After that sign is placed, final placement for a CHS memorial can be determined in the same vicinity. |
Finishing touches continue at the Marmont Building (at 1108 W. Main) as Tharyn Nachtigall's efforts to refurbish this 1916 building have netted a new Collinsville business to be announced soon. |
