City Hall Top Front Bricks /
1956 Stop Light at 12th & Main /
Victory Cherokee Organization

The 1956 photo above shows what the restored City Hall top front facade will look like again after being missing for several years. The mason in the 2005 photos is cutting salvaged bricks to match the building to the original 1913 exterior design of P.J. Duffy. I'm guessing the stoplight in the 2005 photo is not the same one installed in 1956 with the $800 truck/A-frame. -- Ted

The Feb. 1956 photo caption: UP SHE GOES -- Pictured above are the City vehicles, newest of which is the light and water department truck. The truck cost approximately $400 including the winch and the A frame, which was built by Perry Hawkins, cost another $400. The truck is being used here to install the City's new stop light at the corner of 12th and Main.
