Collinsville Beat Mannford 27-14 At Mannford Friday
Congratulations Cardinals!
The Collinsville High School band entertained for the fans in the visitors stands before the football game Sept. 2nd at Mannford.
Collinsville's captains at the coin toss (L-R): Andrew Evans (#51), Brandon Stites (#65), Cody Bittner (#56) and Nick Rabbit (#22).
Lenard Creek (#21) gained 7 yards down to the 1 yard line on this 3rd quarter play. He scored the Cardinals final touchdown on the next play.
The band color guard t-shirts have this season's program names (When I Close My Eyes) along with the guard member's' names.
The CHS football team worked through some mistakes (including fumbling the opening kickoff) to turn in a solid performance and a season opening win at Mannford. Senior running backs Nick Rabbit and Lenard Creek provided the majority of the Cardinals offense. The Cardinals were solid on defense except for a 50 yard pass & run for Mannford's first score. The Card defense also had Mannford back at their own 8 yard line with only 1:14 left in the game but Mannford moved 92 yards to score with 29 seconds left. -- Ted
