May 23rd Updates (from Ted's notes):
Soccer: Coach Joe Ogden in his 4th year. Ashley Carothers was an honorable mention for All-State, Ashley was All-District along with freshman Jessica Harper. On the boys side Michael Short and Travis Blaskey made the All-District team.
Tennis: Coach Cara Plumlee coached the boys team for the first time this year (taking over for Coach Henry). She had a rebuilding year with the girls team having lost all but one player from last year.
Girls Golf: Coach Stan Irvine was coaching the girls team for the first time but the experienced team improved over their 7th place state finish with 6th place this year. Erica Holly shot 88-87 in the state finals and was named to the All-State golf team. Erica was All-State in softball also but plans to play on a basketball scholarship at Carl Albert State College next year. Three other seniors graduating (Hampton, Hart & McElroy) will leave it to Toni Slagle and several freshman who gained some experience this year.
Boys Golf: Coach Bob Pratt with one senior (P.J. Robinson) and one first year player (David Wells) finished 3rd place in the conference. He will have Clint Swango, Tyler Chronister and Jared Ward (3rd in regionals) back next year.
JV Baseball: Coach Art Smalygo in his 9th year helped his players gain experience.
Baseball: Coach Tony Reeder and his varsity squad finished the year with a 28-13 record. They played in the 4A state tournament losing to Berryhill 3-6. Berryhill lost to Oologah in the finals. The 4A state baseball champ has been from the Tulsa 7 Conference every year but one since 1999. Chris Treibt, Josh Walker and Kevin Phillips were named to the all-conference team. Jimmy West was nominated for All-State by Coach Reeder.
Boys Track: Coach Anderson indicated these boys have continued to make steady improvement and were just fractions of a second from qualifying for state in several events.
Girls Track: Coach Anderson (assisted by Coaches Harp & Rogers) took this team to a 3rd place 4A state finish. That finish and 44 points earned at the state tournament were the best ever by a Collinsville track team. They set 7 school records, had 9 conference champs as well as 4 1/2 state champs (the 2 mile relay team) and had a team GPA of 3.75. Johna Moore and Jeanette Lykins are the only seniors from this squad. The team's state finishes the past 4 years were: 13th in 2002, 7th in 2003, 5th in 2004 and 3rd in 2005. A state champion in track equates to All-State.
