CHS Class of 1969

City Hall Meeting Room
Changes

A few members of the CHS Class of 1969 got together Monday evening (June 6th) to rehash old CHS memories. (James from Class of 1970 joined in also). Our class had a 10-year reunion in 1979 and this is as close as we've been to a reunion since as far as I know. -- Ted

The brick above was part of the demolished Middle School Annex (formerly the Central Grade School). Most (or all?) of the bricks were made in Collinsville and first used in the school built on Smelter Hill in 1912. That school looked identical to the Washington School (also built in 1912). The bricks were moved to town in 1933 and the Grade School was built. The view below is of the new middle school addition and the air handlers beside the band room.
Extra decorations at Ridgelawn Cemetery were being removed Monday to allow mowing. The High School parking lot is in the background.
