Clifton Taulbert to Address Installation Banquet Jan 15th

James Dugger began his year as Collinsville Chamber of Commerce President as he presided over the Jan. 5th meeting at the Library. The guest speaker for the luncheon meeting was Mary Thomas from Credit Counseling Centers of Oklahoma, Inc. That center is a non-profit agency providing confidential debt counseling and financial education. Mary is one of the counselors at the Tulsa office at 4646 S. Harvard. Their web site is www.cccsofok.org. Mary warned there are a multitute of agencies that provide related services but charge fees. She cited pay day loans with interest rates more than 1000% as one of the hazards faced by unknowing consumers today.

Noted author Clifton Taulbert will be the guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet to be held at the H.S. Commons. The banquet begins at 6:30pm Saturday, Jan. 15th, 2005. Advanced tickets are $18. Tickets will be $25 after Jan. 12th and at the door.

Taulbert is an internationally acclaimed author, lecturer and thought leader on the critical issue of building Community within all the places of our living. He is the founder and President of the Building Community Institute, which aims to extend the reach of timeless and universal ideals Taulbert encountered while growing up in the Mississippi Delta.
