Game As Lady Cards Drew Bye In District Play
Taylor
Whisenhunt took the throw from senior catcher Erica Holly and tagged this Adair
runner out in the 4th inning.
The
seniors on this season's Cardinal softball team are winding down their careers
but hope to keep playing till they are the only team left. They are L-R: Ginny
Forbes, Allyson Smith and Erica Holly.
Senior
Ginny Forbes layed down a bunt single in the 5th inning. She moved Allyson Smith
(who drew a leadoff walk) to second with no outs. These two seniors helped spark
a 2-run inning.
CHS Softball
Coaches L-R: Dave Cross, Stan Irvine, and Phil Davis.
Kelli
Dunagan pitched the game for the win here against Adair Tuesday.
This
play proved the most controversial of the evening as the Adair batter started
her stance over the plate. Pitcher Kelli Dunagan waited initially at the back
of the mound waiting for the strike zone to clear. After some discussion Kelli
finally threw the first pitch which struck the batter. The batter headed to
first, but was called back as the umpire apparently would not award a walk on
a pitch that was in the strike zone.
Note:
I don't how Collinsville fared in the Oologah Tournament last weekend, but did
hear that lost to Muskogee in extra innings Friday afternoon in the pool play.
