This evening children
participated in the Halloween parade on Main Street. Children came dressed
in everything from unicorns to witches, all to join in on the trick or treating
that took place downtown. Businesses handed out candy to the trick or treaters,
and hot chocolate was given at the fair barns while the costume judging took
place. Not only were kids there, there were also many adults taking part in
the fun.
The activities were a great way for familes to have fun! Parents brought their
children and I believe they all got what they came for. LaJoy Walker, a judge
for the costume contest told me, "I am new to Collinsville and I am very
impressed with how involved the community is with the children and the families
of Collinsville, I love seeing the kids happy and having fun!" So once
again, the Halloween events have been fun, rewarding, and very much great
family fun with community involvement!
