Thursday Oct. 28

The Collinsville High School National Honor Society students will be sponsoring a Halloween Fun Night on Thursday, October 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.at Wilson Elementary. There will be booths, games, a hayride, and a spook house. All children attending should wear Halloween costumes.

Saturday Oct. 30

The American Legion and Auxiliary Post #2 of Collinsville (in conjunction with the City of Collinsville) will sponsor their annual Halloween Parade, free hot dog party and costume judging contest at the Fair Barns. The parade will start lining up at 5:30pm west of the Baptist Church on 14th Street and travel west on Main starting at 6pm. At 10th Street the parade will turn south and head to the Fair Barns for free hot dogs and hot chocolate.

Collinsville Downtown, Inc. and local merchants will team up for the annual Just Treats, No Tricks event on Main Street from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Participating businesses will remain open and offer treats to the costumed kids at starting at 5:30. The Baptist Church is sponsoring a Trunk or Treat at 5:30pm at 1301 W. Main.

 

Saturday Oct. 30

The Collinsville Round Up Club will have a variety of Halloween activities starting at 5pm at their arena north of town on Old Hwy 169. Events include Chili Cook Off, Bake Off, Costume Contest (by age group), Rope the Devil Contest, bobbing for apples, pin the tail on the Halloween donkey, 3-legged sack race, stick horse obstacle race, skillet pitch'n contest, hay buck'n contest, hay rides, bonfire (bring your own marshmellows, hot dogs and fixings), and an Areana Dance from 8-10-pm. Sunday Oct. 31

The Collinsville Round Up Club will have a "Just Horsin' Around Halloween Playday" starting at 2pm Sunday (weather permitting) . Everyone welcome, no gate fee, but $3 event entry fees.

Events -- Costume Contest: horse & rider; Ride for a Buck: bareback riders put a dollar bill under their leg ... last rider get all the bills dropped; Candy Barrell Racing: timed toss of candy into bucket on top of barrel while competing the barrel pattern; Flag Race; bob for apples: dismount, bob and remount with apple still in mouth; monster shoot: suction cup ammo; carmel apple relay race; and Saddle Em Up Contest.

Trunk or Treat

Saturday Oct. 30

6-9pm at Meadowcreek United Methodist Church (14205 East 146th St. N.): Hotdogs and pop for everyone, candy for the kids and a firetruck, Jupiter jump. For those decorating car/trunk please show up at 5pm.

Faith Assembly Church
(So 12th St. and 136 St. N.) will be hosting their annual Hallelujah Fun Fest. Free for all children: hot dogs, games with prizes, and lots of candy. (No scary costumes please). 6:00-8:30pm
