Group to Boost Local Cherokee Community & Compete For Project Funds

Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, was in attendance at the Dec. 14th meeting of the Victory Cherokee Organization in Collinsville.
Pastor Danny Stanley (left) helped auction items at the Victory Cherokee Organization's Dec. 14th meeting. The group recently organized and meets the second Tuesday of each month. They are meeting at the American Bank of Oklahoma in Collinsville at 6pm. The organization hopes to boost the local Cherokee community and is open to both Cherokee and non-Cherokee individuals. The group's interest extends beyond Collinsville and those from neighboring communities are also welcome.
Some of those attending the Dec. 14, 2004 meeting were (L-R) Buel Anglen, Lanora McMullen, Tom Burr, Charles Tripp, Danny Stanley, Chad Smith and Joe Grayson (Assistant Principal Chief).
Buel Anglen (District 8 Cherokee Nation Councilman) was honored with a cake on his birthday at the meeting.
