Ted, Sorry this has taken so long!!

The riveting story of Jill Loveless Carpenter!!

After graduation I spent a short time at OSU. It was too much for a small town farm girl like me. I moved to Tulsa in '72. I had a roommate for a short time (Teri Black) then moved into a duplex where I lived alone for 7 years. I worked at an optical company for two years as a delivery girl among other things. Having never driven in Tulsa before, it was a real adventure learning the streets especially Downtown Tulsa. Went the wrong way a few times. Thank goodness Tulsa is laid out so well. I worked at Consumer Oil Co. next for just a few months which led me to Cities Service Oil. I started in Accounts Payable then in Receivables. I soon moved to Purchasing and was there for 13 years. The years I lived alone I loved seeing friends, dancing at the discos and anywhere Tweed was playing (where I was sure to find lots of C'ville friends and didn't have to worry about going alone). I married Beau Carpenter shortly after our 10 yr. reunion on Halloween night 1979 (he wanted a date he could remember). We had Dustin Beau in 1982 and I quit working outside the home in 1984. Beau hauled crude oil for Sun Oil Co. We had Amelia Ruth in 1987 and much to our surprise, at 38, I had Madalyn Suzanne in 1989. In 1995 Beau went on the road pulling a flatbed trailer. We lost him in an accident in 2003. Dustin was in the Navy stationed in Japan aboard the USS Kitty Hawk from 2002 to 2006. They all graduated from Rogers H.S. I became ill in 2005 and I was not diagnosed until THE big ice storm when my floor furnace quit working and I found out the duct work had been rusting out. I was being poisoned slowly by carbon monoxide. Praise God I survived!! I ended up with a small heart problem but with meds I will live a nice long life. Amelia has given me 2 grandchildren, Haidynn Beau (4) and Emaleigh Ryan (2). I now babysit them 5 days a week. I hope to move back to Collinsville (when the market recovers). My mother and sisters are well. My father died a number of years ago. I have had a lot of fun helping with this reunion and hope all have a wonderful time. I know I will!! I will miss all those who could not attend but have high hopes for seeing more in the future. Be Happy and Well, Jill -- (June 22, 2010)

P.S. Please get Carbon Monoxide detectors and make sure they are within 2 feet of the floor (it is a heavy gas).

Just to avoid any further confusion ...
I am a competitor to the current day "Collinsville News" . After 88 years in my family my Dad sold the newspaper in 1987.
