Beat Cascia Hall But Lost To Mount St. Mary In Semi-Finals
The Collinsville student section was small but mighty (in the middle of a school day) at Mustang, OK, for the opening match of the 5A State Tournament Monday Oct. 17, 2016.
Kailynn Wheeler (7) had the winning point to finish out the second set win (25-18) over Cascia Hall to give Collinsville a 2 set lead (with the Lady Cards taking the first set also at 25-16). At that point Cascia Hall found a different gear and out scored Collinsvile by taking the next two sets 19-25 & 22-25 to even the match at 2 sets each.
Kailynn Wheeler (7) also had the final point in a 15-5 fifth set tie-breaker over Cascia Hall to advance Collinsville to the 5:30pm Monday semi-final game against Mount St. Mary.
I have no photos from the semi-final which the Lady Cards lost in 3 sets. Mount St. Mary will meet Bishop Kelley in the finals Tuesday evening for the 5A State title.
