CHS Baseball -vs- Claremore
Varsity Cardinals
Beat Zebras Here 6-4
3-Run Homer By
Blake Burd
This RBI-Double by Chase Lorg (#9) brought home Brett Erickson to get Collinsville within 2 at 2-4 in the first inning -vs- Claremore here Tuesday. Collinsville had given up 4 to Claremore to start the inning, but shut them out in the remaining innings.
Blake Burd put the Cardinals in the lead for good with this 3-run homer in the first inning and a 5-4 score. Lorg and Austin scored ahead of him.
Jake Brillhart (left) and Averi Kalbe were running the cameras for Cardinal TV's coverage of Tuesday's game.
Brannon Jordan (#12) pitched the complete game victory for the Cardinals while Chase Lorg (#9) was behind the plate (with catcher Dylan Russell out with a wrist injury from the Bixby game).
Brannon Jordan (#12)
Trevin Thomas (#6)
Brett Erickson (#1) and Zach Bess (#13) were already headed to the dugout after completing a 3rd out force at 2nd base with the Claremore runners still approaching second and first base in the 4th inning.
I don't have an explanation, but a bad throw on a pickoff attempt sent Bryce Coons from first to third in the 4th inning ... but the ump sent him back to first base as if the play never occurred?
