Supply Signups In Progress (Pre-K - 5th Grade)
Methodist Church is once again taking registration of children in Pre-K
through 5th Grade who attend Collinsville Schools and are experiencing
financial hardship to receive a new backpack filled with school supplies
needed for the 2016-17 school year. -- 7/12/2016
|CHS Cross Country
|The CHS Cross Country
Boys just beat the rain and lightning Tuesday morning with a stadium workout.
I've seen the CHS XC Girls out running recently also, but don't have a
photo yet. -- Ted -- July 12, 2016
|Band Summer Workout
|Yes, the Collinsville
Crimson Cadet Band members also workout to get in shape for their marching
season. I caught a photo (from the road) of a lap around Sallee Field
last Wednesday (July 6th) ... again with an outdoor practice shortened
by rain. Doesn't seem like a "normal" July weather pattern?
... but I do have green grass in my yard. -- Ted
|The other CHS
fall sports are also preparing this summer ... check back for some random
volleyball, softball, football photos ... before formal media photos scheduled
|Work to replace the
old 19th Street bridge (by the City Park) began July 5th and the old span
was mostly gone when I took this photo Monday afternoon (July 11th). When
this bridge is completed, work will move to 12th Street (over the same
creek). -- (Previous Coverage)
checked some maps and Google and sent out a few queries and as yet can't
find a "formal" name for the creek that runs through City Park.
It was always just been "the creek" or "the park creek"
when I was growing up. I would welcome anyone to share if they have information
on an actual name. -- Ted Wright (firstname.lastname@example.org)
