Join us for Family Game Night and summer reading sign-up for children and teens.

There will be board games, video games, and outside activities for children and families.

Children in grades 1-5 and teens in grades 6-12 may bring their own legos and participate in a lego building contest based on the summer reading themes. The building will be timed and judged.

SPECIAL GUEST - an inflatable sea lion and a Tulsa Zoo staff member representing the new “Helmerich Sea Lion Cove.”

To kick off our Summer Reading Programs, the Collinsville Library will host a Lego event with 2 categories: for children in grades 1-5 and for tweens and teens in 6th grade and up.

Each kid will bring his/her own Legos to build a creation reflecting the SRP themes.

The children’s theme is “DREAM BIG, READ” while the tween /teen theme is “OWN THE NIGHT”

Children will build for 60 minutes, tween/teens for 90 minutes. The entries will be judged and the top 3 will win a prize and the chance to go on to another library-sponsored build-off.

Spelling Bee Winners
On the evening of April 12th, Wilson Elementary held its annual 1st and 2nd Grade Spelling Bees. The 1st grade students competed against each other, then the 2nd grade students had their own spelling bee and competed against other 2nd graders. Each classroom sent four spelling bee nominees to compete in the contests. After battling through several grueling rounds of competition, three students were awarded 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grade winners of the first and second grades. The students all worked hard and did their best. We're all very proud of our spelling contestants at Wilson Elementary. --Thanks - Lee Ann (4/20/2012)
